Christof Dienz and his wife Alexandra have had plenty of experience in expanding the concept of traditional music and traditional musical instruments with their legendary former ensemble “Die Knödel”. Dienz then took the experiment one step further with his “looped zither”, causing quite a stir in musical circles (in his project “Dienz zithered”). He used to play the bassoon at the Vienna State Opera and works as a composer (e.g. for Klangforum Wien, Bruckner Orchester Linz, Tiroler Symphonieorchester Innsbruck, ensemble Intégrales Hamburg, Ernst Kovacic, … ).

Alexandra Dienz is a freelance double bassist, performing e.g. with Klangforum Wien, Ensemble PHACE Contemporary, Radio-Symphonieorchester Wien, at the Neue Oper Wien, Wiener Volksoper, Wiener Akademie, moderntimes_1800, etc.
