Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation
Music Prize goes to Peter Gülke
The international Ernst von Siemens Music Prize of 2014 goes to Peter Gülke. The German musicologist and conductor receives the 250,000 Euro award for a life in the service of
music.
Composers' Prize Winners
The three composer grants-in-aid of the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation 2014 go to the Catalan composer Luis Codera Puzo, the Italian Simone Movio and Brigitta Muntendorf from Germany.
This distinction is awarded to very promising young composers and comes with a cash prize of 35,000 Euros, as well as a portrait CD produced according to the winner’s own specifications.

On these CDs you can hear Klangforum Wien, musikFabrik Köln and Ensemble Modern, among others.

The CDs will be released in autumn, together with the one from last year's award winner Samy Moussa.

Recommendation
Remembrance and Polyphony. Ernst von Siemens composer’s award winner Ulrich Alexander Kreppein.
It seems that Djordjević’s imagination is focussed entirely on an interior world, on the interplay of forces within a de ned space.
A tamer and a charmer of tones, a ringmaster and a magician!
Zeynep Gedzlioglu’s music is an emphatic plea for the value of heterogeneous and individual difference.
Beating Bounds, the Limits of Failure: the Music of Mark Barden.
Ceremonies, too, guard their silences: the music of Christian Mason.
Hèctor Parra’s working on a composition is comparable to the work of a sculptor; continually he carves out his oeuvre out of the musical material. Listen to the result here!
Strive for the greatest integration, exclude all vagaries and obfuscations.
